Clean, organic ash derived from natural wood. It is a traditional "soil gold" used to recycle minerals back into the earth. It is particularly effective for plants that struggle in acidic soils or those that need a calcium boost to prevent blossom-end rot.

  • Potassium (K): High levels for flower and fruit development.
  • Calcium: Essential for strong cell wall structure.
  • Trace Minerals: Carbonates and oxides that stabilize soil chemistry.
  • pH Regulator: Corrects acidic soil, making nutrients more available to the plant.
  • Fruiting Power: Helps tomatoes, peppers, and citrus trees produce larger, tastier fruit.
  • Moisture Management: Improves the water-holding capacity of the soil.
  • Eco-Friendly: A 100% natural mineral source without any synthetic processing.
  • Direct: Mix 100g (approx. 1 cup) per 10-12 inch pot into the topsoil.
  • Liquid Tea: Mix 1 part powder with 15 parts water, soak for 24 hours, and water the plants.

F.A.Q.

It is a potassium source, which the page connects to flower and fruit development, and it also supplies calcium and trace minerals. Its other job is raising soil pH, so it is used to correct acidic soil and make nutrients more available to roots.

Less than you would use of the other inputs, because wood ash shifts soil pH. Add it in small quantities, work it into the soil and water in. If your soil is already alkaline, skip it, since more ash will push the pH further in the wrong direction.

Fruiting plants such as tomatoes, peppers and citrus, per the product page, which links the potassium to larger fruit. It also suits gardens with acidic soil that need the pH lifted. Acid-loving plants like blueberries are the ones to keep it away from.

Ash varies with what was burned, and anything treated, painted or mixed with charcoal briquettes brings residues you do not want in soil you grow food in. A milled single-source product removes that uncertainty. If you do use your own, keep it to clean untreated wood only.
